If you 'like' Bows&Beau-ties' on facebook (if not, you can always 'like' now ;)) you saw that I found these fabulous soundtracks for pre-summer/summer and Surfing. When We Are Handsome posted their Australian Fashion Week Soundtrack (along with some of their other soundtracks) I fell in love right away. The dj mixes of pop, some rap, techno, and indie are the perfect balance for lazy and upbeat summer days.
Of course, I also put together my own Summer 2013 playlist. I tried to keep it shorter than my usual 1,000+ track playlist and ended with 99... but I predict it will grow by the June.
Last year my playlist was inpired by Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Owl City, and The Rapture. And like any of my playlists, all other genres would pop up occasionally.
Taking my everyday 'Fabulous' playlist as a starting point, this year's playlist 'Flirting with Summer' is all breezy summer days open for anything from energetic volleyball games on the beach, reading magazines and lounging, and whatever else the spontaneous summer brings.
One of the things I love about summer besides really cute shorts and tank tops (watch for a haul friday!) is watching romantic summer movies like Dirty Dancing (1987) and Grease (1978). Summer seems to lend itself to summer lovin' daydreams and all those new crush feelings (you know the butterflies, nervousness, awkwardness, the excitement, and non-stop smiling).
I like to listen to my playlists on Spotify, but here are just nine that I'm <3ing.

I am so behind on everything. I feel like I haven't listened to new music in forever. I definitely need to create a fun summer playlist for when I have my apartment welcoming party.

I've never really made up a summer playlist or anything before, but I do think that musicals tend to play more often during the summer - much to my entertainment, seeing as I absolutely adore musicals! :D
