White Washed Interior Design

Happy Monday Gorgeous Readers!

If you follow me on Pinterest you probably noticed I pretty much only pin interior design photos especially those involving barns. Depending on the day I'm in love with dark rustic industrial designs and others, clean, nautical, and rustic. The latter of course is what I'm obsessed with today.

I'm always kind of influenced by rustic touches, hence my adoration for a renovated barn. By the way, if you ever live in Manhattan and tell your friends you want to live in a barn- you will get weird looks. I think some rustic pieces or architecture make a space feel much more home-y. However, I prefer it mixed with modern or industrial pieces to keep the space updated, open, and bright. I've also always had a thing for mixed media fashion items (like tweed and leather jackets) so that may play into my interior design daydreams.

Sidebar: The fact that Nicole Kidman's farm in Australia has a mix of my favourite things has made me love her 110% more.

For the office space the key pieces are the basket for cute storage, artistic studio chair, and bright string of large lights. Crate&Barrel's Emlyn basket is similar and would be great for magazine for easy access working at the desk. I'm honestly still searching for the perfect desk chair, but for lighting Target has the perfect strand of lights for just $15 and the white string would blend into the white design seamlessly.

In the entranceway the hooks, mirror, and light fixture are the focal points. West Elm's Iron Anchor Double Hooks are like artwork when they're not holding Wisconsin autumn-spring coats. Then instead of the rectangular cage like light fixture I liked West Elm's Gallery Industrial Pendant. For the mirror I found a slightly longer one at Pottery Barn.

Like the wood panel walls in the first two photos, I was drawn to the kitchen design primarily just because of the architectural aspects. The tiles, countertops, and clear space are really perfect for a space to prepare food. And the brushed metal hardware on the drawers that look like file cabinet hardware are so chic.

Finally, the bedroom looked super cozy with the mix of textures. A chunky knit sweater, riding boots, and PSL are pretty much the perfect autumn daydream so to snuggle up in a huge chunky knit blanket every night (and netflix binge marathon) would be bliss. This one from Etsy is even better because it is handknit. While I do love the contrast of colour between the bed and wall tapestry I found this silver and gold woven wall hanging and I don't think I could as obsessed with a wall hanging as I am now. The white bedding would do an excellent job of hiding some blonde dog hair because despite the cute dog bed at the food of the bed some dogs (named Lady) like sleeping in spots that are clearly not hers.

Do you love the bright rustic/modern designs or are you excited to see my next post on darker cozy decor?

Also am the only one that could spend hours looking at interior design and furniture I can't afford online?

Stay Fabulous,
xoxo Aimee ♥
