Hey Gorgeous Readers!
New York Fashion Week came to a close last night, but I had so much fun attending this year. Last night I attended the Dorin Negrau show. I previously shared the Kati Stern Venexiana show (here) and some of the Lincoln Center street style (here).
This was the first time Romanian designer, Dorin Negrau, has shown in New York. His inspiration came from "traditional Romanian costumes made with skill and dexterity of (his) grandmother and the embroidery technique performed by women in Romania" and "Dracula duality". Described as an eclectic free spirit, he mixes his own innovation with Transylvanian tradition
His collection was largely black and white with some brightly embroidered details on the waist of some pieces. At the beginning, the lights turned off and Romanian metal (or 'post-punk', 'goth' like this) music started before the lights came back on to this first model revealing the first look under a shawl or netting piece. The first half of the show featured a lot of draping and was very editorial. One model walked down the runway topless in just a corset. The second half of the show included more gowns and a lot of sheer pieces.

Yes loving the semi-goth minimalist aesthetic. And the garment with the side buttons, so cool!
