How to | All Black Dress Code

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

Sometimes we can't just wear what we want due to- pausing for dramatic effect- Dress Codes. Whether it's a specific event and place, group of people we're seeing, or work/school, it always seems a bit hard to stand out in a strict dress code.

One I've had to work with was- all black. No tank tops or graphics/logos. You could wear a different colour top, but only covered by a black blazer or cardigan. Luckily, any shoes were allowed. Maybe it's just because I love wearing bright colours and pretty much never wear a shirt with sleeves (yes even in Wisconsin's winter). I layer and layer those sweaters and jackets over a tank top... I just have so many. And hello summer- layered tank tops, shorts, and flats-- 24/7. Anyways I found the all black dress code a bit hard.

By adding in some strategic accessories it's super easy to stay on-trend and separate yourself from everyone else. Blush pink (like those flats) and mint (like that tank top) are major for SS14 and add a bright pop of freshness to any look especially an all dull black look. I am personally in love with rings right now- statement, embellished, stacked. I wouldn't go with the most dramatic ring you can find for work. The double lion ring is pushing it.. but I just really love it. The triple and four finger ones are definitely for the weekend. Statement necklaces that hang higher by your neck are great since they add shine without getting in the way and not noisy while working.

Stay Fabulous,
xoxo Aimee
