Makeup Brush Cleaning 101

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes.. or beauty blender sponge?
...
It's easy to put off and you may only remember you need to clean your brushes when you need to rush to get ready in the morning, but it only takes a few minutes once a week and a quick spritz of cleaner daily.

It's important to keep your brushes clean because it makes your brushes last longer, helps them apply makeup easier-- without mixing colours, keeps the bristles soft, and prevents acne.

What you need:
-your brushes
-a towel
-a beauty blendercleanser (if you have a beauty blender sponge)

Some people use baby shampoo in place of a makeup brush shampoo, but I prefer the Sephora shampoo because I think it cleans the bristles really well and smells good. :) Shampoo is used to deep clean your brushes once a week. Avoid shampooing more than once a week because constant water at the root of the bristles may loosen the glue and damaging the brush.

To use, just add some water to your brush and a small amount of shampoo in your hand. Move the brush around in the shampoo and rinse. Repeat if the brush is still really dirty.

A daily cleanser- as it is called- can be used daily. It's a good habit to spray some cleanser on your brush as soon as your done using it and dry it with a towel and to get all the makeup out.

Then if there's anything worse than cleaning a foundation brush, it's cleaning a beauty blender sponge you use for foundation and concealer daily. Beauty Blender makes a cleanser specially made for the sponge rather than brush bristles and while it may take a little longer than cleaning a brush, it does work. It is used the same way as the makeup brush shampoo.

Then store your brushes standing upright or on a towel to dry.

Stay Fabulous,
xoxo Aimee ♥
