Bronzed Boho Look

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

During the spring and summer I love bright colours and save my black and white looks for the autumn and winter. But to show off a tan I think black and white is perfect. White looks amazing against a tan and with the tan already making your legs appear slimmer, black makes them look supermodel ready.

Crochet tops are another bohemian summer trend with the kimono so I went with a white cropped halter crochet top from River Island. For the kimono I went with a black fringed one with subtle floral detail on the back from Mango. I tied in both the black and white from the look with these embroidered runner shorts from Urban Outfitters. Then I chose a pair of simple black flats from Tory Burch.

To accessorize I like these Ray Ban's with the gold and white detail on the arms, collar necklace from White House Black Market, and gold rings from Zappos.

Starting on the bronzed part of the look I picked Sun Bum sunscreen to protect the skin and Victorias Secret Bronze to create the healthy glow. To get a fresh and natural bronze look I like Too Faced Snow Bunny from their new Build Your Own Bronzer collection just over my foundation and concealer. For this super simple makeup look I would just finish with my Too Faced Better than Sex mascara.

Strawberry Festival | OOTD

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

Here in Wisconsin we have a ton of street festivals sandwiched between our county fairs, state fair, and world's largest music festival-- Summerfest (yes bigger than Coachella and Bonaroo). This past weekend I went to one of my favourite festivals, Strawberry Fest in Cedarburg. I look forward to this one every year because the historic part of Cedarburg is so pretty, which of course was a great opportunity for #OOTD.

I kept my outfit really simple because it was actually really hot out and festivals are just really hot and crowded in general. So I coincidentally put together a red, white, and blue look for the pre-4th of July weekend. I wore my white shorts with blue Late Night California muscle tank, and red Ralph Lauren flats.

I also had my Michael Kors bag of course since I am in love with it. :)

And since this is a Wisconsin festival I had to add this.

Stay Fabulous,
xoxo Aimee

Summer Morning Routine!

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

Even though it's Summer I'm still pretty busy so I keep my morning routine quick and simple. Depending on the day's schedule though I tend to sleep in a little. :)

Of course the first thing is coffee. I love Starbucks even at home so I make one of their dark roasts. I typically go for Italian or French.

Then Lady needs to go for her walk! As cute as she is, she refuses to heel so this usually means she takes me for a walk (or run). After this is breakfast, if Josh makes it (otherwise I drink more coffee and wait a few hours for lunch). And its always too good so I forget to take a photo lol.

I've started using Victoria's Secret Bronzer this summer. It looks really dark and orange in the tube, but it's really just a gradual bronze. I only use it about once a week, but I only do it in the morning or an afternoon because I don't want it on my sheets. The little shimmer is really pretty too.

During the summer I don't straighten my hair as often. It's kind of a combination of it being too hot out so I don't want 400 degrees anywhere near my hair, laziness, and the fact that the heat and humidity turn my straight hair to a lion's mane of curls and frizz within 1-5 minutes of being outside anyway. Because of the frizz though I brush my Mastey Oil treatment through my natural curls/waves. It's a mix of argan and olive oil, grapeseed extract and vitamin E so there's a ton of great things to protect your hair, strengthen it, and prevent split ends. I've never colour treated my hair, but it also says it's good for protecting colour. I received it in a gift bag at Fashion Week, but when it runs out (a little goes a long way) I will totally buy another bottle.

Before I get started on makeup I brush my teeth. Not very exciting lol, but I do this before my makeup regardless of my finishing powder or spray because I still think it washes off my foundation.

Also before my makeup I wash my face with Ursa Major's fantastic face wash (that's actually the name, but I agree). It smells amazing and I love that's it's like an oil consistency, but doesn't make my skin feel oily. And then I moisturize either with my Beyond Belief moisturizer or Lancôme Bienefait Multi-Vital sunscreen cream. I think my Garnier Skin Renew Instant Smoother has reminded me to moisturize more. And that's my last step before I get started on my makeup. I still love it since my First Impressions post.

With a little inspiration from one of my style icons Lauren Conrad ♥ I've been doing a simple bronze-y look lately.

I finish by setting my makeup with my Urban Decay All Nighter spray or Guerlain Météorites powder. Some deodorant, a perfume or body spray, and some lotion and I'm ready for the day! I've been in love with Bath&Body Works Bourbon Strawberry&Vanilla fragrance lately (I got the soufflé, body wash, and body spray)

Stay Fabulous,

OOTD | Boho Romper

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

I had late lunch plans with family so this loose bohemian romper was perfect for lounging around watching PLL beforehand (will we ever know exactly who A is...?). Then I accessorized with a long flowy white scarf, four-finger ring, and brown oxfords.

I really liked this outfit because I'm typically super lazy putting together an outfit when its hot out. LOL. So this romper and scarf looked much more polished than a pair of shorts and a tank top. This bandana type print has also been making its way into my closet more and more in the form of rompers and dresses.

Stay Fabulous,

Festival OOTD

Hey Gorgeous Readers!

Coachella just came to a close meaning summer music festival season has officially started. See the full list over at MFJ. In my opinion though you only really need to go to the 'World's Largest Music Festival'- Summerfest in Wisconsin (yes larger than Coachella and Bonaroo). But I digress, the most important thing about the music festival season is the amazing bohemian and rock and roll fashions.

So I picked my first festival OOTD and am counting down the days til the long days that turn into late nights are filled with the sounds of Rock blending with EDM and Indie.

I live in short shorts all summer because if you're a little shorter like I am, they're great for elongating your legs. I think festivals are so carefree and cool that these cut off pair with distressing and visible pockets (they are not as short in front as picture suggests though!) are perfect. I went more edgy than some floral and feminine festival looks with this leather jacket with the quilted panels on the shoulders. Bringing a jacket means you won't have to leave after the sun goes down or freeze during the closing acts. The jacket adds just enough polish with all the fringe and distressing going on in the look too.

I am totally in love with this new tank top I got with a Day of the Dead inspired graphic on it. The grey scheme I kept throughout with these adorable soft booties and scarf kept the look lighter than a harsh all black look, but not overly girly. The booties are great because they are a little unfinished at the seams and top, and not too heavy for the spring or summer. I'm not really a flip flop or sandal person and I would be nervous to wear them in the huge crowds of a festival so I think booties or sneakers are better anyways. Also comfort is key if you go for the whole day.

To accessorize I went with my pink and rose gold aviator sunglasses, a dainty girly gold ring and an ear cuff with pink rose. These little details soften the look.

What're your go-to pieces for a festival ootd?

Stay fabulous,
xoxo Aimee

ps. A music festival is nothing without beer so the fact that Summerfest shares the hometown with Miller, Blatz, Pabst, Schlitz, and Sprecher just makes sense. #JustPuttingThatOutThere

Trend-Spotting | 20 Rompers Under $50

Happy Monday Fashionable Guys&Girls!

All-over prints are of course a major trend for this S/S 13 season and I think one of the cutest ways to wear this trend is with a romper. Rompers and jumpers have been appearing on the runways as well. They're totally easy to throw-on-and-go and fabulously versatile. Wear as is with a statement pattern (like the Wild Rose Romper) or a solid colour (like the Mint Dream Lace Detail Romper) to make your accessories shine. Most give the illusion of wearing a dress without the annoyance of worrying about how to sit. You can also treat the 'shorts' part as a separate piece by layering a sweater or button down over the top. Even take the romper trend out at night with romper like the Sequin Wrap Romper. And because I love them so much I've pulled 20 that I'm 'ing right now. Oh- and they're all under US$50...

It was already pretty hard to narrow the lookbook to just these seven,  but as they include a few of my top favourite pieces/sets it was a bit easier.

1) Lucca Couture Shredded Pullover in white and rose 2)  Lucca Couture Tropical Cutout Crop Top and Lucca Couture Tropical Tropical Short 3)  BDG Summertime Shirt in all four colours 4) Della X UO Trek Bomber Jacket and Della X UO Trek Short 5) Kimchi Blue Smocked Dress- actually in the navy polka dot and neural multi though.

Which are your favourite pieces from Urban Outfitters Summer 2013 Lookbook?

Stay Fabulous,
